Villa de Álvarez mayor opens renovated Casa de Usos Múltiples in Almendros
President Tey Gutiérrez Andrade of Villa de Álvarez inaugurated the renovated Casa de Usos Múltiples in the Almendros neighborhood. The project fulfilled Strategic Goal 315 of the 2026 municipal program, completing exterior and interior painting, repairs to doors, windows, electrical and hydraulic systems, sanitary facilities, and the roof, as well as installing desks, curtains, and refurbishing adjacent sidewalks, playgrounds, and a futsal court.
The mayor highlighted the center’s role for community activities such as gymnastics, Zumba, yoga, crafts, and other human‑development programs. She noted that Villa de Álvarez has grown from 189 to 201 colonies since 2021, that 80% of the state’s Viviendas del Bienestar are built there, and that an additional 2,000 families are expected to join the municipality in the coming months, creating further demand for cultural and sports initiatives.
