Villa María to host 2026 Basque National Week

Villa María will host the 2026 Basque National Week from October 5 to 11. The event, organized by the Centro Vasco de Villa María, coincides with the 80th anniversary of the local institution.

The gathering will feature artistic and cultural delegations from Argentina, Uruguay, and Brazil, alongside officials from the Basque Country. The First Vice-Lehendakari of the Basque Government is expected to attend to meet with municipal authorities and the National University of Villa María.

Scheduled activities include live music, international dance performances, and traditional Basque sports such as wood cutting and weightlifting. Gastronomic offerings and pelota paleta exhibitions will also be part of the program, with major events concentrated at the Costanera, the Municipal Amphitheater, and the Sociedad Rural grounds.
