Villa Santa Maria di Spoltore to host Saint Francis conference

Villa Santa Maria di Spoltore will host a conference titled ‘San Francesco: tra spiritualità e storia’ (Saint Francis: between spirituality and history) on September 5, 2026. The event, organized by the Parish of the Blessed Virgin Mary Assunta in Cielo, focuses on the life and contemporary relevance of Saint Francis of Assisi.

A central part of the gathering is the presentation of the book ‘Il genio di Francesco: la minorità. L’umiltà è la virtù della fraternità’ by Fra Emiliano Antenucci of the Order of Friars Minor Capuchin. The discussion will feature Antenucci alongside classics professor Raffaella Lombardo. The event will include institutional greetings from Mayor Chiara Trulli and Cultural Assessor Nada Di Giandomenico.
