Villa Vie Odyssey cruise ship makes historic overnight stay in Nha Trang Bay

The Villa Vie Odyssey, a five-star residential cruise ship operated by the US-based Villa Vie Residences, has arrived in Nha Trang Bay, Vietnam. Carrying nearly 300 international passengers, the Bahamas-flagged vessel is scheduled to anchor in the bay from August 12 to August 15.

This event marks the first time a five-star cruise ship has stayed overnight in Nha Trang Bay for tourism purposes, excluding vessels staying due to weather conditions. Passengers are being transferred to the Ana Marina International Marina to explore local landmarks such as Po Nagar Cham Towers, Long Son Pagoda, and Bao Dai Palace.

The extended stay is expected to boost local tourism revenue by allowing visitors more time to utilize onshore services, including accommodation, dining, and shopping. This development is viewed as a step toward a “home-porting” model for Khanh Hoa province, where the region serves as a primary hub rather than just a brief stopover.
