Village Funds BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Yandri Susanto Social Security Informal Workers

Yandri Susanto, the Minister of Villages and Underdeveloped Regions, has announced that village funds can be utilized to pay BPJS Ketenagakerjaan membership fees for informal and vulnerable workers. This initiative is primarily facilitated through the Village Cash for Work (PKTD) program.

The policy is supported by the Minister of Villages Regulation Number 16 of 2025, which provides operational guidelines for the 2026 use of village funds. The program prioritizes vulnerable groups, including the unemployed, underemployed, female heads of households, impoverished families, and marginal community members.

Minister Susanto emphasized that the monthly contribution of Rp16,800 provides significant protection for informal workers, such as farm laborers and mosque caretakers, who face high risks of workplace accidents. Additionally, the Ministry plans to collaborate with BPJS Ketenagakerjaan to increase social security literacy in rural areas.
