Villaricos inaugurates new urban boulevard following remodeling works

The coastal district of Villaricos has completed a major urban remodeling project to transform its main entrance. The works converted the former AL-7107 thoroughfare into a modern urban boulevard designed to improve pedestrian mobility, safety, and connectivity with the local landscape and heritage.

The project involved a total investment of 1,323,000 euros. The City Council of Cuevas del Almanzora covered 65% of the costs, exceeding 800,000 euros, while the Provincial Council of Almería financed the remaining 35% through Provincial Plans.

Key improvements include the creation of wide pedestrian sidewalks, a new metal footbridge connecting Calle Baria to the AL-7107, reorganized parking areas, and enhanced access to the Villaricos Castle. The intervention also features new signage and steel corten totems dedicated to the archaeological and fishing heritage of the municipality.
