Vilnius begins construction on third new school this year

Construction has begun on a new lower secondary school in the Pavilnys district of Vilnius, marking the third new school project in the city this year. The project, located on S. Lozoraičio Street, was symbolically inaugurated with the placement of a time capsule.

Designed for students in grades 1–8, the facility will accommodate nearly 1,000 students. The complex will consist of three interconnected volumes, including a main three-story building with 32 classrooms, a science wing with laboratories, and specialized studios for art, music, sports, and choreography. A notable feature of the project is a 25-meter, four-lane swimming pool, added to meet community needs and regional development potential.

The project is being developed by the Vilnius Development Company. Mayor Valdas Benkunskas stated that the school is a response to the rapid expansion of the Pavilnys area, with completion expected by the end of 2027.
