Vinci Wong denies gambling links to bankruptcy and debt

Vinci Wong, son of former Tung Wah Group of Hospitals chairman Wong Chung-tung, is facing scrutiny following his bankruptcy filing and relocation to Canada. The controversy centers on allegations that his massive debts stem from a gambling addiction.

Media personality Siu Ting-yat recently revealed that Wong contacted him via telephone to request assistance in clarifying two specific points: first, that Wong has not stepped foot in a casino for over a decade and his debts are unrelated to gambling; and second, that his partner is not a gambler. While Siu agreed to relay these statements, he noted contradictions in Wong's defense, particularly regarding public accusations made by Wong's sister, Wong Hin-tak, who claimed his debts have caused significant distress to the family.

Siu suggested that Wong's explanation might employ ‘linguistic art,’ noting that avoiding physical casinos does not necessarily mean one is not involved in gambling activities, such as private games. Wong has previously addressed his followers on social media, expressing concern for his fans and stating that he intends to handle certain family matters privately.
