Wong has denied these claims, asserting in a livestream that he has avoided casinos for twenty years and that his financial difficulties stem from investment failures and poor management. He has since been working as an Uber Eats delivery driver in Canada and has launched an online professional hosting workshop, though the latter has faced criticism regarding the use of archival footage.

Further reports indicate that Wong sought assistance from media personality Siu Ting-yat to clarify that neither he nor his partner are gamblers.
