VinEnergo to invest VND 9.1 trillion in 200 MW wind farm in Quang Tri, Vietnam

VinEnergo, a subsidiary of Vingroup, submitted the sole bid to develop the Halcom Hong Duc wind farm in Quang Tri province. The project will have a 200 MW capacity with 24 turbines (8.5 MW and 4.5 MW) and is expected to generate about 549.4 GWh of electricity per year over a 1,606‑hectare site spanning the communes of Tân Mỹ, Sen Ngư and Trường Phú.

The provincial People's Committee approved the investment plan on 6 Nov 2025, with a total cost of VND 9.1276 trillion. Construction is slated to begin after land lease agreements, with a target commissioning period of 15 months and a 50‑year operating life. The original deadline for investor applications on 16 July 2026 was extended to 30 July 2026 due to limited interest.

VinEnergo has previously secured approvals for several other wind projects, including Eco Wind Kỳ Anh, Vĩnh Thuận and the first phase of Hòn Trâu, underscoring Vingroup’s expanding role in Vietnam’s renewable‑energy sector.
