VinFast electric vehicles see consumer interest in Vietnam

VinFast is seeing consumer adoption of its electric vehicle models, specifically the VF 6 Plus and VF 5, as users transition from internal combustion engine vehicles to electric power.

The VF 6 Plus features a driving range of 460 km and fast-charging capabilities that allow the battery to charge from 10% to 70% in approximately 25 minutes. Current incentives for the model include a 9% support policy and free charging services available until February 10, 2029.

The VF 5, a compact SUV, offers a maximum power of 100 kW (134 horsepower) and a peak torque of 135 Nm. Users have noted the immediate torque response characteristic of electric motors, which provides faster acceleration compared to traditional gasoline vehicles. The model includes Eco and Sport driving modes, as well as cruise control functionality.
