VinFast files design patent for VF5 electric SUV facelift in India
Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast has filed a design patent in India for a facelifted version of its VF5 compact electric SUV. This move suggests the company is preparing to introduce the updated model to the Indian market, where the vehicle has previously been spotted undergoing road testing.
The facelifted VF5 features several exterior modifications, including a redesigned front end with slimmer, lower-positioned headlights and a reshaped bonnet. The rear of the vehicle has been updated with a full-width LED light bar that integrates the tail lights, turn indicators, and reversing lights, replacing the bumper-mounted elements found on the current model. The side profile remains largely similar, though the vehicle will feature new alloy wheel designs.
Inside, the interior has undergone revisions, including a redesigned dashboard centered around a larger, free-standing infotainment touchscreen. The conventional instrument cluster appears to have been replaced, with driving information expected to be displayed via the central screen.
