VinFast Surpasses 100,000 Vehicles in Six Months, Leads Vietnam Auto Market

VinFast announced it has become the first Vietnamese automaker to sell more than 100,000 vehicles within a six‑month period. In June 2026 the company delivered 17,955 electric cars, bringing its cumulative H1 2026 sales to 115,916 units – a 72 % increase over the same period a year earlier. The Limo Green topped the overall market with 27,927 units, followed by the VF 3 and VF 5 models.

The broader Vietnamese car market saw strong demand for both domestic and imported models. Hyundai’s Creta led June sales among internal‑combustion vehicles, while the imported Toyota Yaris Cross was the best‑selling imported car in the first half of 2026, selling 8,146 units. Other top imports included the Mitsubishi Xforce and Xpander.

VinFast is also expanding internationally. The company’s new plant in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, India, has an initial capacity of around 50,000 vehicles per year and will assemble the VF 6 and VF 7 electric SUVs. The strategy emphasizes local manufacturing, charging infrastructure partnerships and a broader EV ecosystem to support long‑term growth in one of the world’s fastest‑growing automotive markets.
