VinFast launches Amio S electric scooter for Vietnamese students at 12 million VND

VinFast has introduced the Amio S electric two‑wheel vehicle aimed at students and short‑distance commuters in Vietnam. The scooter does not require a driving licence, is limited to 25 km/h, and can travel about 65 km on a full charge thanks to a 1.024 kWh LFP battery. It meets IP67 water‑resistance standards and can operate in up to 0.5 m of standing water for 30 minutes.

Pricing starts at roughly 11.6‑12 million VND (about US$500). The model includes a pedal‑assist system that lets it function like a bicycle when the battery is depleted, a 12‑litre storage compartment, a flat footboard, and a colour LED display. VinFast offers an eight‑year warranty on the battery and a free service package worth 600,000 VND for purchases made before 31 August 2026. The launch targets parents seeking a safe, affordable, and low‑maintenance transport option for children aged 16 and up.
