VinFast launches new VF 8 electric SUV in Vietnam

VinFast introduced the all‑new VF 8 electric SUV in Vietnam, pricing it at 999 million VND. The model features a lighter chassis, a redesigned cabin with improved ergonomics, a 170 kW (228 hp) front‑motor, and a 330 Nm torque output. New technical highlights include a centrally‑located CVC computer for software‑defined vehicle control, an integrated thermal‑management system that cools and heats the battery, motor and cabin, and an adaptive suspension with Frequency Selective Dampers. The vehicle also offers an ADAS suite aimed at achieving a five‑star ASEAN NCAP safety rating.

The launch sparked strong consumer interest, with many customers placing early deposits during the eight‑day “early‑bird” period (27 May‑3 June). Buyers received a 51 million‑VND discount plus a 10 % incentive from the “Mạnh liệt vì tương lai Xanh” program. A veteran VF 8 owner highlighted the practical improvements, noting that the new second‑row seat resolves previous family‑use complaints and that the vehicle’s price positions it competitively against larger gasoline SUVs such as the Mazda CX‑5 and Ford Territory.
