VinFast launches VF Wild REEV pickup truck in Vietnam

VinFast has officially launched the VF Wild in Vietnam, marking the brand's entry into the pickup truck segment. The vehicle utilizes Extended-Range Electric Vehicle (REEV) technology, featuring an LFP battery and an internal combustion engine that acts solely as a generator to extend the total driving range to over 1,100 km.

With a starting price of approximately 860 million VND, the VF Wild enters a highly competitive market currently dominated by diesel-powered models like the Ford Ranger and Toyota Hilux. To compete, established manufacturers like Mitsubishi and Toyota have introduced various interest rate subsidies and registration fee discounts.

Reports suggest the VF Wild may benefit from unique regulatory advantages. Because it is classified as an electric vehicle using REEV technology, it may be eligible for registration fee exemptions and may not be subject to the 25-year usage limit typically imposed on traditional pickup trucks in Vietnam.
