VinFast plans Level 4 autonomous taxi trials in Vietnam

VinFast is planning to test 200 Level 4 autonomous taxis in Vietnam by the end of 2027. The pilot program is slated to take place within the Vinhomes Green Paradise urban area in Can Gio, Ho Chi Minh City, pending approval from regulatory authorities.

In collaboration with NVIDIA and Autobrains, VinFast is developing a Level 4 platform specifically tailored for the Southeast Asian market. This region presents unique challenges for autonomous driving due to dense traffic, diverse driving behaviors, and highly variable urban environments.

Level 4 autonomy allows a vehicle to operate without human intervention within specific designed conditions and geographic boundaries. The system utilizes a combination of cameras, radar, and LiDAR sensors paired with artificial intelligence to perceive, understand, and navigate complex traffic situations.
