VinFast launches VF Wild electric pickup in Vietnam

VinFast has officially launched the VF Wild, its first electric pickup truck, in the Vietnamese market. The vehicle features a Range Extended Electric Vehicle (REEV) system, which uses an internal combustion engine as a generator to charge the battery and extend driving range, rather than directly powering the wheels. This technology allows for a combined driving range of up to 1,000 km, while the pure electric range is estimated at over 250 km (NEDC standard).

The VF Wild is priced starting from 860 million VND. It utilizes a unibody construction and features a modern SUV-like silhouette based on the ‘Fluid Dynamism’ design philosophy. Key specifications include an 18-inch wheel set, a 10-inch touchscreen, and an advanced virtual assistant (version 3.0). The vehicle also supports Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, enabling users to power external devices, which is particularly useful for camping or remote areas.

Previously showcased at CES 2024 in Las Vegas, the commercial version has undergone over two years of development. Deposits for the vehicle are expected to be accepted starting late September, with deliveries potentially beginning in late October.
