VinFast sees high demand for VF Wild and tests new VF 5

VinFast is seeing significant momentum in the Vietnamese automotive market. The company's new VF Wild pickup truck has recorded 10,997 deposits in less than two weeks since bookings opened on September 25. This figure represents approximately 41% of the total annual sales volume of the entire Vietnamese pickup segment, according to VAMA data.

The VF Wild utilizes a REEV (range-extended electric vehicle) powertrain, combining a 46.4 kWh LFP battery with a gasoline engine that acts as a generator. This setup allows for over 250 km of pure electric range and a total driving distance of approximately 1,000 km. Pricing starts from 860 million VND, with various incentives available for early depositors.

Separately, a new generation of the VinFast VF 5 has been spotted testing in Hanoi. The prototype features a more boxy, upright design compared to the current model and may include a front trunk. Interior updates include a more minimalist dashboard where driving information is consolidated onto a central screen, and a steering wheel design reminiscent of the VF 8 and VF Wild models.
