VinFast tests second-generation VF 5 electric SUV in India

A second-generation VinFast VF 5 electric SUV has been spotted undergoing road testing in Bengaluru, India. The prototype, captured near the Mahalakshmi metro station, appears to be a significantly redesigned model rather than a simple facelift.

Key exterior changes noted include a redesigned hood, new projector headlights, and a rear design featuring connected LED taillights. The vehicle is expected to compete in India's popular small electric SUV segment against models from Tata and Mahindra.

Inside, the cabin is expected to feature a flatter dashboard, a large rectangular infotainment screen, and a new steering wheel design similar to the VF 8. While technical specifications remain unannounced, VinFast aims to expand its presence in Asia, targeting five electric models in the Indian market by the end of 2026.
