VinFast, Ultraviolette, and Honda to launch electric scooters in India

The Indian electric scooter market is set to expand with new product launches from VinFast, Ultraviolette, and Honda. Each manufacturer is targeting different consumer segments.

VinFast plans to enter the Indian two-wheeler market in the second half of 2026. The Vietnamese manufacturer is collaborating with local suppliers to develop India-specific models. A recently filed design patent in India suggests a sporty scooter featuring large wheels, chunky tires, and a hub-mounted motor.

Ultraviolette is preparing to launch its first electric scooter, the Tesseract, in the first quarter of 2027. The vehicle will utilize a new 100V architecture designed for higher performance and faster charging. The company aims to scale production to 10,000 units per month and has announced a new annual-capacity plant in Hosur.

Honda has announced the QC3, a family-focused electric scooter intended to complement its existing Activa e: model.
