VinFast unveils new electric scooter design targeting Indian market
VinFast has released images of a new electric scooter that appears to be a modernised version of its Viper model. The scooter features a refreshed front end, a distinctive LED daytime‑running‑light strip forming a “V” shape, and sharper body panel lines while retaining familiar elements such as a 14‑inch alloy wheel, flat footboard and dual‑level seat.
The design was filed in an industrial‑design registration in India, signalling the Vietnamese manufacturer’s intent to protect the product for that large two‑wheeler market. No official specifications have been disclosed, but the bike may use a rear‑mounted motor of around 3 kW, a top speed of 70 km/h and a standard 1.5 kWh LFP battery delivering roughly 82 km of range, with optional extra‑capacity modules similar to the current Viper.
VinFast’s expansion plans include a new manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu, aimed at serving both the domestic Indian market and regional exports, making the scooter a potential entry point for the brand’s broader push into international two‑wheel electric mobility.
