VinFast launches VF 2, Vietnam’s cheapest electric city car at 188 million dong
VinFast unveiled the VF 2 electric city car on 5 July 2026, pricing it at 188 million dong (≈ US$8 000) with the battery included. The two‑door, four‑seat vehicle is built on the Minio Green platform and measures 3 090 mm × 1 496 mm × 1 663 mm with a 2 065 mm wheelbase, targeting urban commuters.
The VF 2 is powered by a rear‑axle electric motor delivering up to 30 kW (40 hp) and 65 Nm of torque, reaching a top speed of 80 km/h and an NEDC‑rated range of about 210 km on its 18.3 kWh battery. It supports 24 kW DC fast‑charging, topping up from 10 % to 70 % in roughly 34 minutes. Standard safety equipment includes a driver‑side airbag, ABS, EBD, and TCS, while the suspension uses MacPherson struts front and rear.
Customers can place a 10 million‑dong deposit starting 15 July 2026; deposits made between 15‑17 July receive an additional 8 million‑dong discount. The first VF 2 units are scheduled for delivery in September 2026. Owners also get ten free public‑charging sessions per month at V‑Green stations until 10 February 2029.
