VinFast launches VF2 compact electric city car in Vietnam
VinFast has unveiled the VF2, a four‑seat electric city car aimed at making car ownership affordable in Vietnam. Priced at 188 million VND (about RM 29,000) and available for booking from 15 July with deliveries expected in September, the VF2 is equipped with an 18.3 kWh battery powering a rear‑mounted 30 kW (41 PS) motor that delivers a top speed of 80 km/h and an NEDC‑rated range of up to 210 km. The vehicle offers Eco and Normal driving modes, DC fast‑charging that reaches 70 % in roughly 34 minutes, and ten free public‑charging sessions per month at V‑Green stations until 10 February 2029.
Early‑bird incentives include an 8 million VND discount for deposits placed between 15‑17 July and a voucher worth up to 80 million VND for existing VinFast gasoline‑car owners, effectively lowering the purchase price to around 100 million VND for some buyers. The compact dimensions (3 090 mm × 1 496 mm × 1 663 mm) and a narrow body width of 1.5 m enable easy navigation and parking in dense urban areas. Safety features comprise a driver‑airbag, ABS, electronic brake‑force distribution, traction control and a 7‑inch driver‑information display, while the interior offers basic comforts such as manual air‑conditioning and a simple digital cockpit.
