Vingroup expands globally as Vietnam's property market slows
Vietnam's largest privately owned conglomerate, Vingroup, is pursuing overseas projects as the domestic property market cools and its electric‑vehicle subsidiary VinFast incurs losses. The group has signed agreements for roughly two dozen developments in at least 15 countries, including a "Vietnam Town" in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, smart‑city projects in India, a river‑front development in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and motor‑component production in Germany.
At the same time, Vietnam's stock market showed a tentative rebound, with the VN‑Index gaining about 12 points after a sharp sell‑off. Analysts warned that the rally could be a bull‑trap, noting that the index remains below key moving averages and momentum indicators are still weak. Continued buying pressure could stabilize the market, but risks of further declines persist.
