Vingroup launches second green transition program for electric vehicles
Vingroup and its ecosystem have launched the second phase of the ‘For a Green Future’ program to accelerate the transition to electric vehicles (EVs) in Vietnam. The initiative targets both individual consumers and commercial transport drivers.
Under the ‘gas-to-electric’ policy, effective from September 19 to December 19, 2026, customers trading in internal combustion engine vehicles or old VinFast EVs for new VinFast electric cars can receive discounts ranging from 3% to 9% depending on the model. High-demand models like the VF 5, VF 6, and older VF 8 versions qualify for the maximum 9% discount. Additionally, EV car buyers receive free charging at V-Green stations until February 2029, while electric motorbike buyers can access up to 20 free battery swaps per month through June 2028.
For commercial drivers, Green SM is offering a significant revenue-sharing incentive. Partners who purchase or lease electric vehicles and operate on the Green SM Platform before December 19, 2026, will retain 100% of their revenue for the first two years. In the third year, the platform will apply a commission rate that is 50% lower than the market average, returning to market standards by the fourth and fifth years. New Green SM Bike riders are also promised guaranteed income for their first two months of operation.
