Vingroup launches second green initiative to promote electric vehicle transition
Vingroup has launched the second phase of its ‘For a Green Future’ program, aimed at accelerating the transition to electric vehicles (EVs) in Vietnam. The initiative provides various incentives for individual customers and commercial drivers to switch from internal combustion engines to VinFast electric cars and motorbikes.
For individual car buyers, the program offers discounts ranging from 3% to 9% when trading in existing gasoline or electric vehicles for new VinFast models. Additionally, customers purchasing VinFast electric cars will benefit from free charging at V-Green stations until February 10, 2029. VinFast electric motorbike buyers can receive incentives between 1.5 million and 6 million VND, along with a policy providing up to 20 free battery swaps per month until June 2028.
Green SM, the transport service arm, is targeting commercial drivers with a significant revenue-sharing policy. Eligible drivers who purchase or lease vehicles and operate exclusively on the Green SM Platform may receive up to 100% of their trip revenue for the first two years. Under this model, platform fees are charged to the customer rather than being deducted from the driver's earnings. For motorbike drivers, rental options for models like the Evo are available, supplemented by income guarantees in major cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City during the initial months of operation.
