Vinh Hung urban redevelopment project focuses on public infrastructure
Hanoi is initiating an urban redevelopment and renovation project in the Vinh Hung area to address infrastructure shortages and improve living standards. The project, which covers approximately 447 hectares, aims to transition from horizontal expansion to upgrading the city's core spaces.
Nearly 70% of the land within the project's scope is designated for public works, including transportation, social infrastructure, and community spaces. The redevelopment seeks to resolve long-standing issues such as traffic congestion, local flooding, and the lack of essential services like schools and medical facilities.
The plan follows a Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) model and the ‘15-minute city’ concept, focusing on green and sustainable restructuring. By reorganizing the existing urban space, the project intends to integrate new development areas with the renovation of current residential zones to provide better access to healthcare, education, and public recreation.
