VietinBank Fund Takes 7.5% Stake, Becomes Major Shareholder in PC1 Group

On 9 July 2026, VietinBank Fund increased its holding in PC1 Group (HOSE: PC1) by purchasing an additional 14.1 million shares. The fund’s ownership rose from 4.11 % to 7.54 % of the company’s charter capital, bringing its total to 31 million shares and qualifying it as a large shareholder.

The move comes as PC1 is undergoing a period of senior‑management turbulence. In May 2026, the Ministry of Public Security’s Investigation Police detained seven executives of PC1 on charges of serious accounting violations, embezzlement and related offences. Earlier in June, the CII investment group also became a large shareholder, stating its investment was purely financial and not aimed at corporate governance.

VietinBank Fund’s increased stake signals confidence in PC1’s diversified operations, which include power‑line construction, renewable energy, real‑estate, industrial parks, mining and manufacturing.
