Vinitaly. USA debuts in New York to promote Italian wine
The third edition of Vinitaly. USA is making its debut in New York at Pier 36 on October 26–27. Organized jointly by Veronafiere and the Italian Trade Agency (ITA), the event brings together 300 Italian companies representing approximately 2,500 labels and operators from 35 nations.
Italy currently holds a 30% share of wine volumes in the United States, making it the leading supplier by volume and the second by value, trailing only France. Approximately 35 million Americans consume Italian wine, accounting for 41% of total wine consumers. Sparkling wines are the most consumed Italian variety, representing 42% of the market.
The event aims to consolidate the presence of 'Made in Italy' enology in the American market by connecting producers with key decision-makers in distribution, retail, and hospitality. Federico Bricolo, president of Veronafiere, noted that wine serves as an economic and cultural lever for relations between Italy and the United States.
