Violence against women reported in Mexicali and Yucatán

Reports from January to July indicate varying levels of violence against women in different Mexican regions. In Baja California, Mexicali recorded the highest number of feminicides within the state. While the National Public Security System reported four cases in Mexicali, state authorities documented five, placing the city ninth nationally for this crime.

In Yucatán, data shows 34 women died due to violence during the same period, including four feminicides and several homicides. The state also ranks as the tenth most affected in Mexico regarding economic and sexual violence. Health officials noted that 737 women were treated for various forms of violence in the region.
