Violence against women reported in Peru, Mexico, and Argentina

Multiple incidents of violence against women have been reported across Latin America. In Peru, the family of 19-year-old Mishel Córdova Chávez alleges she was kidnapped and murdered by her ex-partner, with her body later found incinerated in La Victoria.

In Mexico, the community of Coatzacoalcos is mourning Melanie Michelle Méndez Morales, a 24-year-old psychology student at the Universidad Veracruzana, who was killed over the weekend. Her death has prompted calls for increased security for female students.

In Argentina, a 16-year-old girl in Las Heras reported being abducted and assaulted by her 19-year-old ex-partner. The victim was allegedly forced into a vehicle and struck during the encounter, an incident currently under judicial investigation.
