Culiacán experiences wave of violence with six deaths

Culiacán, Sinaloa, experienced a wave of violent attacks on Saturday, August 15, resulting in at least six deaths across various sectors of the city.

In a high-profile incident near the State Government Palace, two men were killed when their white Nissan Versa was intercepted and fired upon by armed subjects in multiple vehicles. Witnesses reported the vehicle was being pursued and was already damaged before coming to a halt near the intersection of Boulevard Constitución and Avenida Lázaro Cárdenas.

Other fatal incidents included the shooting of 29-year-old Jesús Alberto on the stairs of a pedestrian bridge in the Campo El Diez community, and a double homicide at a beer dispensary in the Barrancos sector. Additionally, a 40-year-old man was killed in the El Mirador neighborhood.

Security forces, including the Mexican Army, the National Guard, and the Navy, responded to the various scenes. Local authorities and the State Attorney General's Office have launched investigations into the multiple shootings, though no arrests have been reported in connection with these events.
