Violent incidents and security scares reported across Latin America

Several violent incidents and security scares have been reported across Latin America. In San Cristóbal, Argentina, eight students aged 13 to 17 were hospitalized after jumping from the first floor of Escuela Nº 40 Mariano Moreno. The students reacted to a loud noise caused by a truck, which they mistook for a shooting due to a previous fatal attack at the same school in March.

In Centenario, Argentina, a 19-year-old man was shot in the chest and leg during an early morning attack on a residence. He was transferred to the Hospital Regional Castro Rendón for urgent care. Authorities recovered shell casings and projectiles at the scene.

In Chimbote, Peru, 34-year-old Alexander Manuel Alejos Vega was shot and killed by two individuals in a vehicle parked in front of an early childhood education center. Police are investigating the incident as a possible settling of scores, noting the victim had a prior criminal record.

In Álamo, Mexico, a teacher's parked vehicle was targeted by gunfire at the Adolfo López Mateos primary school. While the teacher was inside the classroom and uninjured, the attack caused panic among parents and students, leading to the temporary suspension of school activities.
