Violent merchant confrontations with thieves reported in Argentina

In the city of Mendoza, a bazar owner captured on security cameras a thief who cut a chain and stole a stove displayed at the shop’s entrance on San Martín street. The proprietor, Eduardo Pérez, said the robbery was the latest in a series of crimes affecting the commercial area, citing repeated thefts, assaults and drug activity, and criticized the municipal "Ojos en Alerta" safety program.

In Zárate, a 45‑year‑old supermarket owner accused a man of stealing merchandise, then tied the suspect to his Ford Ranger and dragged him about 600 metres along a street. Neighbours filmed the incident; the man was later detained on theft charges while the merchant was charged with injuries for the assault.
