Violent Residential Fires Kill Infant in Libreville and Displace Families in Ligugé

A severe fire in the Kinguélé district of Libreville, Gabon, destroyed a family home and killed a six‑month‑old infant. The blaze spread rapidly, and authorities have not yet determined its cause. The victim was the grandson of Elisabeth Kogou, who lost all her possessions in the blaze.

In Ligugé, France, a fire broke out in a social‑housing building on Grand Rue, quickly spreading to a second apartment. No injuries were reported, but the two residents were left homeless and will be temporarily housed by neighbours while a longer‑term relocation is arranged.
