Violent robberies assault merchants in Media Agua and Makallé, Argentina
In the town of Media Agua, thieves broke into a shop on Avenida 25 de Mayo, cutting through a protective fence and shattering a window to steal an estimated 15 automotive batteries and a number of tires. Police arrived quickly and began a forensic investigation, reviewing security footage from the premises and a nearby hardware store.
In Makallé, a 74‑year‑old merchant was attacked in his home and adjoining hardware store. Four assailants bound his hands and feet, struck him, and forced him to hand over a briefcase containing roughly 8 million Argentine pesos and a 16‑gauge shotgun. The victim sustained only minor injuries. Local police and crime‑scene investigators are reviewing surveillance videos and searching for the perpetrators, who remain at large.
