Vipugal approves new public housing projects in Pontevedra and A Coruña

The Galician Public Housing Society (Vipugal) has approved several contracts for public housing projects in Pontevedra and A Coruña.

In Pontevedra, Vipugal authorized the construction of 16 new public homes in the A Parda neighborhood. The project, located on Rua As Devesas, involves a 13-story building including garages, storage rooms, and commercial spaces. The contract was awarded to Coviastec S.L. for approximately 2.43 million euros. This marks the first public housing development by Vipugal outside the Valdecorvos area. Additionally, a contract worth roughly 344,607 euros was awarded to transform existing premises in Valdecorvos into three public homes.

In A Coruña, Vipugal has awarded a contract to Díaz & Díaz Arquitectos for the design and direction of a project to build 264 public homes in the Xuxán neighborhood. This development, consisting of four buildings, has an estimated total cost of 51.6 million euros and is described by the Xunta as the largest project of its kind in A Coruña. The project design phase is expected to take five months, with construction following a maximum period of 31 months.
