Virginia Tech defeats Clemson 20-16 in Death Valley
Virginia Tech secured a 20-16 comeback victory over Clemson at Memorial Stadium, marking their first win at the venue since 2007. Despite a difficult third quarter where Clemson outscored them 13-0, the Hokies regained control in the fourth quarter.
Quarterback Ethan Grunkemeyer threw two touchdown passes to tight end Luke Reynolds, including a decisive 5-yard scoring strike on fourth-and-1 with 1:44 remaining in the game. The Hokies' defense proved critical in the closing minutes, recording 13 tackles for loss and securing the win with late sacks by Jaquez White and Mylachi Williams on Clemson quarterback Tait Reynolds.
With the win, Virginia Tech moves to 6-2 on the season and has officially clinched bowl eligibility. Clemson falls to 4-3, marking a rare consecutive pair of Homecoming losses for the Tigers.
