Visa targets Brazil's high-income gap with new premium card tiers
Visa is planning to expand its premium card offerings in Brazil by targeting the segment between standard high-income cards, such as Visa Infinite, and ultra-exclusive products for ultra-high-net-worth individuals.
Rodrigo Cury, President of Visa in Brazil, announced during Febraban Tech that the company sees a significant opportunity in this intermediate space. This move responds to banks creating more segmented products for different wealth levels.
As part of this strategy, the Visa Infinite Private card—an evolution of the Visa Infinite Privilege introduced in 2025—is designed for an extremely selective audience. Access is by invitation from issuing banks. The card's criteria include a declared monthly income of at least R$ 300,000 or declared assets of R$ 30 million, alongside a minimum quarterly spend of R$ 180,000 for issuer qualification.
