Visakhapatnam Naval Dockyard spy case: Key accused arrested

Authorities in Visakhapatnam have arrested Kadari Srinivas, an accused in a case involving the alleged theft of sensitive information from the Naval Dockyard. Srinivas, 31, was intercepted at Delhi airport while returning from Saudi Arabia, where he had been residing since October 2025.

Investigators allege that Srinivas and the principal accused, Bongu Ravi, both worked for a private engineering firm at the dockyard. The group is accused of sharing details regarding the presence and movement of naval vessels and submarines with an unidentified woman on Facebook. The woman, using the alias ‘Angel Payal’, reportedly claimed to represent a Dubai-based shipping logistics company and allegedly paid the men for the information.

Srinivas has been remanded to judicial custody in Visakhapatnam Central Prison. The case has been registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Official Secrets Act, 1923.
