Vishay Intertechnology expands automotive electronics portfolio
Vishay Intertechnology has expanded its automotive electronics portfolio with the introduction of four new surface-mount common mode chokes: the Vishay Dale ICM5050-A, ICM6050-A, IFLN-1210BE-A, and IFLN-1812CZ-A.
These AEC-Q200 qualified components are designed to improve system efficiency and reduce electromagnetic interference (EMI) in vehicles as electronic systems and networking requirements increase. The devices are rated for high-temperature operation up to 150 °C and are suitable for applications such as DC/DC power supplies, LCD displays, lighting drivers, in-vehicle Ethernet networks, and battery-powered systems.
The new components offer significantly lower direct current resistance (DCR) than typical toroidal common mode chokes, with values ranging from 0.4 mΩ to 12 mΩ compared to the standard 23 mΩ. This reduction helps minimize power loss as heat. Additionally, the compact footprints of these devices allow them to replace larger toroidal chokes, thereby saving circuit board space.
