Vietnam fines Vitamia and Total Swiss for regulatory violations

The National Competition Commission of Vietnam has issued administrative fines against two companies for violations regarding advertising and business management.

Vitamia Natural Health Solutions Co., Ltd. was fined 200 million VND for unfair competition. The company used unverified claims to promote Kangen alkaline water ionizers, describing them as the “number one in the world” and “number one in Japan.” The Commission ruled these claims were inaccurate and misleading to consumers. In addition to the fine, the company was ordered to publicly correct the information on its website.

Separately, Total Swiss Vietnam Co., Ltd., based in Ho Chi Minh City, was fined 710 million VND for multiple violations related to multi-level marketing (MLM) and consumer rights. The company failed to provide contracts to participants, appointed unqualified trainers, and exceeded legal limits on commissions and bonuses relative to annual sales revenue. Other violations included failing to follow registered reward plans, improper handling of goods, and failing to provide adequate product instructions or consumer information usage disclosures.
