Viterbo protests over fascist “Casa del Balilla” inscription on historic high school

In Viterbo, Italy, the cultural association Luigi Petroselli joined a sit‑in on Saturday at the Mariano Buratti classical high school to oppose the restored “Casa del Balilla” inscription on the school’s façade. The demonstration is organized together with the provincial ANPI, students and other anti‑fascist groups.

Protesters demand that the fascist wording be removed or at least neutralised, arguing that it breaches restoration regulations and disrespects the memory of the Resistance and the school's anti‑fascist heritage. Participation is expanding, with calls for parliamentary questions and broader public scrutiny of the decision.
