Vitinha advocates for PSG player to win 2026 Ballon d'Or

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Vitinha has expressed his preference for a PSG player to win the 2026 Ballon d'Or. Speaking ahead of the European Super Cup against Aston Villa, the Portuguese international stated that while many players are contenders, he believes the award should go to a Parisian.

Vitinha identified potential candidates from his own club, specifically mentioning Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Ousmane Dembélé, and Fabian Ruiz. He also acknowledged strong external competition from players such as Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappé.

The 2026 ceremony, scheduled for October 26, marks the 70th anniversary of the trophy. For the first time in its history, the event will be held in London, a decision intended to honor Stanley Matthews, the inaugural winner in 1956.
