Vitor Moraes selected for Brazil's Shotokan Karate World Championships
Eighteen‑year‑old Vitor Moraes from Maranhão has been named to the Brazilian Shotokan Karate team for the 7th World Championships in Vitória (ES) from 20‑23 August. This marks his third consecutive call‑up after winning gold, silver and two bronze medals at the 2025 Brazilian Shotokan Championships. Moraes said, “I’m very happy and motivated to defend Brazil… I hope to meet expectations and win medals at the World Championships.”
In a separate event, the Associação Centro América de Karatê Shotokan held a belt‑examination in Cuiabá that gathered about 430 children and teenagers from its social‑project schools. Participants were evaluated on technical skills and values such as discipline and respect, with families and community members attending. The day also featured a traditional karate festival promoting inclusion and personal development through sport.
