Vitória de Guimarães to host Marítimo in Primeira Liga clash

Vitória de Guimarães and Marítimo are set to face each other in the 9th round of the Primeira Liga at the Estádio Dom Afonso Henriques. Both teams enter the match looking to build momentum following recent successes in the Taça de Portugal.

Vitória de Guimarães currently sits 15th in the league standings, having secured only five points from their first eight matches. The team has struggled offensively, scoring only five goals this season, and is currently on a five-match winless streak in league play. Despite their difficult league form, they recently secured a 1-0 victory in the domestic cup against ACDR Lamelas.

Marítimo occupies 11th place with eight points. Their manager, Mitchell van der Gaag, emphasized the need for his squad to show personality and handle the high-pressure environment expected at the Guimarães stadium. Marítimo also comes into the fixture following a 2-1 cup win over GD Alcochetense.
