Vittoria arson attack: Two arrested for clothing store fire

Two men have been arrested in connection with an arson attack on the ‘Serpy’ clothing store in Vittoria, Sicily. The suspects, identified as a 45-year-old and a 39-year-old, are accused of manufacturing and possessing incendiary materials, as well as causing damage through arson.

Investigations by the Carabinieri revealed that the suspects arrived at the shop in a Fiat Panda and placed an incendiary device in front of the entrance. The explosion destroyed the store's storefront and glass windows. The incident, which occurred in early July, required an extensive intervention by firefighters.

Authorities used surveillance footage to identify the vehicle and the individuals involved. Following a request from the Public Prosecutor's Office of Ragusa, a judge issued a precautionary detention order, and the two suspects were transferred to the Ragusa prison.
