Vittoria for Women Tour brings free breast‑cancer screenings to Italian beaches

The fourth edition of the Vittoria for Women Tour travelled along Italy’s coast from late June to July 2026, offering free mammography‑type breast‑cancer screening visits directly on the beach. A mobile “VittoriaBus” staffed by LILT doctors provided on‑site senological examinations, lifestyle advice and referrals for further diagnostics. The initiative, organized by Vittoria Assicurazioni, partnered with the Italian Rugby Federation, regional LILT chapters and the digital‑health start‑up Come Stai, allowing participants to record vital signs on a smartphone app. New collaborations with the social‑media health cooperative Heimi Salute e Prevenzione helped engage younger audiences, while the menopause‑support platform Pausetiv was present at several stops. Over the first three editions the project recorded more than 4,200 screenings and directed over 200 women to additional follow‑up care, demonstrating the impact of moving preventive health services out of traditional clinics and into everyday public spaces.

The tour’s beach‑based model aims to normalise regular breast‑cancer checks, promote healthy habits and expand digital health tools for women across Italy.
