Vitulano Mayor participates in European Via Francigena assembly

Raffaele Scarinzi, the Mayor of Vitulano, is participating in the general assembly of the European Association of Via Francigena routes held in Avigliana, Susa Valley. The event celebrates the 25th anniversary of the association and the 1300th anniversary of the Novalesa Abbey, focusing on the role of European pilgrimage routes as tools for cultural and tourism development.

In the Sannio region, Vitulano is leading a project to enhance the Via Francigena del Sud. Mayor Scarinzi recently presented an initiative at the TTG Travel Experience in Rimini, where Vitulano serves as the lead for a network of 22 municipalities within the province of Benevento.

The program is supported by 1,526,500 euros from the 2021-2027 Development and Cohesion Fund. The project aims to improve organization, accessibility, and services along the route by coordinating local administrations, enhancing pilgrim hospitality, training operators, and involving local communities to ensure safety and quality.
